To add to the confusion, the pins in the DIN socket are not numbered from one end to the other. F.e. pin 2 is the center pin of the seven. I may be able to supply a correct pin or two to screw in to the original plug (if it's still on the cable). A photo or two of what you have, would help us help you. Martin

The platter will always spin freely by hand. That's normal. There is no belt or conventional motor in a Beogram 8000. It's an Eddy-current system so you will feel no resistance when rotating the platter by hand (unpowered). I agree with the above comments. Hard to diagnose here then. Probably processor, reset, unstable power supply or something else is keeping it from going out of standby. Martin

It seems that the two tapedeck versions are generally found in all of the autoreverse machines. Most problems with these decks are worn belts (available from me) and mis-aligned brakes (repairable). Martin
