Was the factory wholey B&O owned or was the work farmed out?

It won't until the carriage moves - the switch is mechanically 'active' as Graham says and when you hit start you are in effect operating that switch remotely, then by the time you let go of start key the switch has taken over and completed the circuit. If you press start very quickly on a working 4002 you might find the machine turns on

Nothing like snake oil to empty the pockets of the gullible. Personally, I am skeptical about speaker bed-in after refoaming, certainly can't see how short term use can make a notiicable audible difference! As for RCA leads, bah - I bet most would struggle to hear the difference between a DIN plug and a straight gold plated RCA !?

Just wanted to say the pins arrived Graham and have been screwed straight into the DIN plug without issues - thank you :) Just ordered a 7 pin DIN socket for the beomaster and ready to work somthing out. Will be crude and simple but will do the job hopefully! Will update if anyone interested.. Thanks again, Olly.

Yes I think you are both sort of correct - kind of a half click! BTW has anyone thought of making these decks quieter like the 4000 was? The 4000 had a superior servo motor, silent leaf switches with which I doubt there were any major problems the only audible bit was the speed change which could possibly be substituted by a couple of reed relays? I

Not surprised tbh, although I would like to know how much sales increase during the boom and whether b&o invested wisely during this time?
