BG 6000 Quad could definitely be used in stereo only mode, so perhaps there was a deal to be done on this deck at the time the OP purchased it. I'd quite like to try this with my Avant and Beosystem 8000. I have the Tape 2 socket spare as Tape 1 is filled by a Beocord 8004 on the DIN and a CDX via the RCA sockets. If I could get my hands on one of those mythical IR converters, what else would I need to hook the Avant to the BM 8000? Anyone got an IR converter going spare?? ;)
