I am one of the scoffers. I am very surprised to see that B&O went along with this, and so rapidly! To me it's a gadget/commodity and to me, that's not what B&O is about. Plain and simple. It seems the Beovision 4 line is turning out to be a sort of powerama showcase! I think the size, Jonny, was chosen to give that real theater feel

Carpola & Stan, For some reason I remember there being talk about (at the very beginning) the BS5 not supporting AAC. It may very well be the DRM versions, as I cannot remember. Ah well... I'm glad to hear that AAC is included.

I think the 4500 might be a step down in terms of performance. If you are trying to tidy up the look, source some amps (beolab 150 or 200 or maybe even one of those MCL2_ units) for those Pentas. I bet they play better with more power. Or get some 3rd party stand alone amp (onkyo, marantz, nakamichi, Niles... Etc) that has a DC trigger and use the powerlink

I always thought iTunes' standard rip bit rate was 128. I understand the lossless bit/process and have been using apple lossless for quite some time. I'm just worried about AAC. Did that huge update for BeoSound 5 Classic add AAC? I remember someone else asking about it... I'm surprised that everyone has been able to live without this format
