I'm not going to remove the speaker so I can't get an exact measurement on the depth, but the magnet is pretty much as deep as there is space for, so it definitely can't be more than 50 mm from the front bezel surface (not the mounting surface) to the rear of the magnet. You have released the transport screws from underneath the turntable, haven't you? There's a small chance that somebody has retrofitted a RIAA amp in the Beogram. That is easy to check - just connect it to some other (line level) input on the Beomaster. If the sound is fine then, problem solved. But I suppose the seller would've informed
