Not had a problem fitting them though they never seem quite as secure as the original ones . I have never holed a pair fitting them - I have had a number of pairs including a green pair!

There should be no problem at all - B&O cartridges are Moving magnet (actually moving iron but that is splitting hairs!) and as Mika says, have a very slightly lower output but the same frequency curve as most moving magnets. Ortofon use the same system in some of their cartridges. I suspect the noise will be the cartridge, not the amplifier - check

They allow you to attach Beolab speakers. The 5500 only has passive speaker outputs and the software is not always going to work with some systems. I like 5500 systems because they have both DIN and RCA connections - great for attaching computers. However the lack of Powerlink is a big problem.

I think the cabinets of the earlier speakers are far better made. Each to their own though. Not sure how easy it will be as the drivers are quite different.

I am sure that would be fine - I would consider the 6500 instead though - Powerlink sockets are big plus. Ian is a reputable dealer so you won't have a problem.

You're sick of them?! I scanned all these and now see someone selling them without a by your leave! Why he lists the Beogram 3000 Acoustical is beyond me! Only ever come across one! And the writing on the outside of the manual is mine!

I am sure Sony will take the BV7. However I will give £160 instead of the £150 they are offering in trade in!

Just consulted with the tape expert. The old tapes will be useless by now - he suggests this site and you want the LO3 tape.

Agree! Bought one of these new when it came out! (the 2400-2) Just gave a 2400 system away a few months ago - sorry to see it go but it did take up quite some space!
