The first question will be one for somebody like Medogsfat to answer - it involves fiddling around with geometry settings which is not for the faint hearted... RE the second question, the only real way around this is to take the 'second room RF feed' on the Sky box out into the other rooms separately unfortunately.

The WiiMote works through Bluetooth, and I can send files from my phone to the household's iMac which is on a completely different floor/through two solid 1740 stone walls...

RE: iPod volume, it depends on the model and where you bought it. Some of the iPods (the latest ones) are certainly quieter than line level at full volume, whereas the previous generation of iPods were much higher than line level at full volume...

End of the summer holidays = everyone's still getting back from holidays! I was in Leeds last week and it was absolutely dead , much like most other places. Give it a few days and things will perk back up...

The BeoLab 3 is actually capable of reproducing perfectly deep bass in a small-medium room, and still does a great job even in a larger room. Try the LAME encoder for iTunes. Encodes MP3s at a much higher quality than iTunes' own encoder...

I'd ignore the price tag if you can, just look at the products. What really suits you best?
