Hello John and welcome to Beoworld. You should be able to use a Freeview box with you MX4500 with no problem at all. Although you will need a remote control. Do you have one? What do you mean by behaving oddly? Never tried using a standard Scart junction box, but I can't see any reason why not. We do have a copy of the user manual available to download

After reading all the posts on this thread. It seems to me that two subjects keep been mentioned. Which IMO are not a problem. Problems with the spam filter.......... Well I for one would rather have the occasional post held back for whatever reason. Than have a sight flooded with all sorts of spam. In over 3000 posts I think I have only had a problem
