Interesting! But how is it different to the 6000? I was expecting it to be black!

If I was thinking of the top ten models, it would be a little different! Certain models changed the direction of B&O completely so the Eliminator has to be there as does the Five Lamper. The Beolit 39 is gorgeous, even though this was the cheap model! (Not now!!) The one off Krone 1 would be on the list (This is the one I would steal from the museum

I am pretty sure all Beomaster 6000 quad receivers have the remote sensor. The later Beomaster 6000 had an optional remote so maybe this is what Tim meant.

The CD5500 is probably the best CD player made by B&O. However they can still break so do make sure it is working before buying as 900 Euro is very expensive. I would probably look for another. I doubt you will hear the difference!

The conversion obviously allows a variety of the Grado cartridges to be fitted. B&O cartridges were actually quite cheap originally and even the MMC20CL was relatively inexpensive. There is a captive market these days and Soundsmith cartridges are hand made and therefore very expensive. It is an understandable conversion in my view as the 4000 deck
