I bought mine directly from the dealer in December, they were handed to me in that very style packaging. Back when Apple carried A8s, they were also packaged this way.

If the jacks on the terminals are meant for regular stranded speaker wire, it will not work directly. Does the Tv have pre-amplifier outputs? If so, those are what you should connect your BeoLabs to. If that is not the case (no pre-outs), then you will need to source some attenuating cables that will bring the amplified level from the tv down to line

The 9500 for the most part should be ok. I'm suprised to hear you have a stable CD mechanism, most of the ones on here pop up with issues (but then again, not many post comments on here regarding working mechanisms!).
