Yes, of course. The switch hole would also have been square to fit the handle of the sliding switch. The round hole, I've once seen used for a cable remote control but the cable just passed through this convenient hole and it was definitely homemade. I don't know if the hole once had a dedicated function, maybe an oscillator could be coupled

Sounds like the belt is slipping in the volume control, that's very common for the Beomaster 6000. You can try cleaning the belt using IPA (isopropanol alcohol / tapehead cleaner) and cotton buds. It will only bring a temporary solution to see if the diagnose holds water. I can supply an excellent reproduction belt. Replacing is not particularly

Some Beocords in the 8000-series have a level setting switch next to the DIN socket, allowing a switch between Line/DIN level to match many non-B&O receivers. Martin

There are many different versions of the Beogram 4002 and different types of lamp/sensors for the ruler. The lamp assy's are not directly interchangeable. One type uses IR, which is light you cannot see. Check the lamp inside the sensor arm and its position with relation to the lens system, check also the signal from the sensor. The radial streaks

Yes, but I would still try to make sure they don't rub on metal parts as that will eventually wear through the thin lacquer. Martin
