If your Iphone works, your computer should work with the same cable, if not, there is something wrong with the setup in your computer, check your software and how its configered, check for line out, speaker out, mixer, and sound out levels. The RCA cable was a sugestion to be more flexible if you want to connect something else than computer or Ipod
