I've got an Onkyo AV-S810PRO Surround Sound amplifier. It is part of the Integra range and is dynamite!! I have CX100s as fronts and CX50s as rears and the sound is amazing. I've only kept it because it is worth peanuts now... Interestingly, it doesn't have a built in tuner. Apparantly this is so it doesn't interfere with the amplifier

Beo4 is definitely preferable. Consider trying to get an Avant with a built in DVD player rather than a built in VCR, and if possible one with a Beo4. The RF version is preferable.. If you sign up to Beoworld as a silver or gold member you will have access to the user guides as well!

Ditch the DVD2 and by a PVR that is Beo4 controllable. This way you can use the internal DVD player and still have hard drive capabilities that actually work!!
