it looks interesting. But I am think that when you raise the cover to switch on an increase the volume you may change accidently the frequency. If they built that they would have to fine tune this. And then also the base would have to be quite heavy so that you can change volume while its on a shelf or table with one hand .....

It doesn't do it on mine. Can try the other IR port maybe? By not using the ATV do you mean it is playing a movie and you do not use the remote or is the AT just idling? I think you can use a digital camera to find out if the eye/sensor attached to the cable is sending IR signals. Cheers JK

I think what might happen is that you see more reasonable priced products lke the BV8. So new products would be introduced with lower prices, not existing ones lowered. Even though it happened and will happen every now and then. See BS3, the mobile phones and so on.

I don't agree with the this statement. Times move on. Some like the design of the 90ties that BL6000 and BL8000 have but we are now a century later. I like the BL3s and 5s, while not as dramatic as the 8000 the shape and combination of materials is very unique.

I second getting them fixed. If that is too expensive, I would try cleaning up the working one and sell as a center.
