From what I've heard, BeoMaster/Sound 5 is really worth the wait it's been. I've been optimistic, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Hopefully we'll get some sneak-previews relatively soon...

Try cleaning the contacts on the plug. Get a damp cloth and spin the plug/contacts round in the cloth - always does the trick for me!

Just finished listening to Court & Spark by Joni Mitchell on vinyl. Been listening through a Rega Planar 3 (R200 tonearm, I'm not lucky enough for an RB300 ), BeoMaster 6500 & B&W DM303s - excellent. I have considered a speaker upgrade though, and B&W's latest 68x range is absolutely jaw-droppingly good considering it's price. Can't afford the BeoLabs

Not sure about Audio & Video syncing with Handbrake - I've never had any issues. Maybe try a different ripping preset? As far as the time it takes to rip a DVD goes, this is where it really helps to have the fastest computer possible. Something like the MacPro can rip a DVD in good quality in around an hour, wheras my MacBook Pro on the same preset

You cannot get BeoPort to work with the Apple TV is the simple answer. What you can do is get BeoPort to control iTunes, and play iTunes through the Apple TV. Not very elegant but it works! You get no video, only audio.

On top of that, a proper hardware interface to use will be a big bonus. My iTunes + Apple TV combo is all well and good, but it involves choosing from a list of music in iTunes which is not what music is about...

Component to S-Vid will make things even worse. Have you tried different inputs? I believe that not all the scarts would accept an RGB signal...

I wouldn't really want to go for anything cheaper. If anything, I'd see if you can get some 8/8 PowerLink (the kind supplied with BeoLab 5s).
