  • Re: S60 or 3702 ?

M75 and M100. The M70 was an earlier model. You need quite a big room for M100s to work at their best. Superb bass.

  • Re: AM I CRAZY, OR IS THAT A BEOMASTER 6001?

Discussing this with a colleague, we wonder if this was when they were introducing the remote control - the first 6000s did not have this. This may have been a test bed. Very nice condition and beautifully photographed.

Once we have worked out the provenance, we shall have to put it on site - you can do the write up!!

So apart from the change in digit, there are no differences? Seems very odd. The 4401 I have is a separate model , being fitted with a black fascia. It too has the red labelling and also prototype wiring inside. I don't really understand why this was not simply a prototype 6000 with red labelling. A picture of the label would be most interesting

  • Re: S60 or 3702 ?

I like S60/75s and I would have them rather than S120s personally. S120s are more accurate but I like S75s in particular. 400 Euros is a ridiculous price - I can only imagine that they have the trumpet stands and are perfect. Still about twice the maximum that anyone should pay. For a real upgrade, look for M75 or M100s.

I would get the manuals - you sj=hould be able to get them on the official site or join here as silver or gold and download them from here. Wonderful set - I am sure it will give you years of pleasure with people congratulating you on your HD set!!

  • Re: BEO 9000 Reoccurring Repairs

I imagine this is the laser focus issue rearing its head. There is a capacitor on the laser control coard that fails in some of the 16 bit lasers and the 9000 may well have something similar. Normally a problem in the later decks - the 9000 uses the CDX2 type mechanism I believe - there are a number of threads identifying the relevant capacitor.

  • Re: Beocord 9000 cable

Surely it is just a standard 5 pin DIN cable? There is no Datalink with the 2400 so 7 pins are not required.

  • Re: BG 3400/3404

There are two different 3400 models which confuses the issue. The original 3400 was a 1900 clone with the option of a CD4 board. However in the US there was a later 3400 and 3404 which have the sloping front of the 2202 etc. These replaced the 2200 and 2400 in the US. The 3404 has the remote link of the 2400 whereas the 3400 matches the 2200.

  • Re: beomaster 3300 blown?

Check there is not a short in one of the speaker plugs. Does it work with headphones?
