Did you see the Hi-Fi World article on the 2200 in this month's edition?
Oh yes, it's in my hands right now. Mr Jarman explains there's a mod to be done (caps and resistors) on the input preamp, but unfortunately he doesn't tell us more!

Thanks Martin, I will ! It's nice to know there will (always?) be someone as knowledgeable as yourself to talk about these products! Jacques, simple mortal.

  • Beocord 2200 advice

Hello to all, I've just come across a never used, new-looking (yes, indeed) Beocord 2200. I know this is supposed to be one of the best among the best—will it be better than my excellent Beocord 6000? Anything I should know and look for before plugging the beast? Thanks, Jacques

  • Beocord 8000/6000 motor noise

Hello, One last problem I have with my Beocords is that the noise of the motor can be heard in the background of the music: it is admittedly buried in hiss but it definitely can be heard on quiet passages. It is heard as a faint buzz. When the motor doesn't work (I remove the fuse) there is just hiss with no trace of hum whatsoever. The ground wire

Play a record !!!! Err... I don't get your answer, Eugene. It's a topic about cleaning. How do I clean the black stuff?

Hello, Interesting topic. I don't very much like pulling out/pushing back in the cartridges on these fragile arms either, for fear of ruining the adjustment of parallelism... not to mention the delicate bearing! Anyway, I have an MMC20 with a black cantilever—it looks as if something has grown on it. I managed to clean the stylus which was
I have a review of the S80.2 from Hi-Fi Choice - not very promising!
Could you send me a copy, when you have some time to kill please? Thanks.

  • Beovox S80: worth it, soundwise?

Hello, I have the opportunity of buying a very nice pair of these for 250€. They look perfect, they haven't been re-foamed but the foam looks nice. Anyway, could these replace my beloved Arcam Ones? They were highly regarded and praised British speakers in 1986, being used with high-end Naim gear. They sound great with my CDX-Beogram 8000-Beomaster

  • Re: beomaster 6000 1980s hot stuff

Hi, My Beomaster 6000 keeps relatively lukewarm, and even when pushed hard (very rare, just for testing purposes), it never becomes alarmingly hot. Bear in mind that the right side is always a bit hotter because the PSU regulators are there, thus communicating some of their warmth to the neighbouring amp! Jacques
