It looks like an additional expander for two stereo input signals to one output. The 4066 ist a electronic switch 4x ON... it would fit with 4 cpacitors and one transistor for inverting the switchsignal. Maybe something like Tape1+ Tape2 => Tape Martin

Not all 5 capacitors are always defect... already one of them can cause this bad effect. But it makes no sense, exchanging just one of them... hmmm, which one one is now the defect one? You can't test or measure it. So exchange all of them. The parts are cheap, we are talking around 50 cents...and 2 hours skilled work on very tiny parts. One miniature

The AVX1 works perfect with the MX5000 :) The Expander was even designed to fit into the motorized stand MS5000 on the backside, invisible ;) I use it already several years...
