It can be done, but it's going to basically end up just like any other brand equipment. B&O's solution only works if the TV is B&O as well - there's no way around it... Look at it this way, why change your Avant for a plasma such as the Kuro? You aren't 'upgrading', the picture will probably be worse and you'll end up with a heap of remote controls

The BeoLab 1 is head and shoulders above the 8000s and 6000s in terms of outright sound performance. They were stunning speakers, although sadly just not to everyone's taste. They didn't fit with 'the B&O sound' so much, very forward and detailed in comparison to other speakers like the 8000, 6000 and 4000 which sound much 'smoother' and more laid back

From what I've heard, it's just a bit better than that.

The link picture (DVD down RF) on a BeoVision 9 is better than the upscaled picture I've seen on a lot of other brands' Plasmas with upscaled DVDs.

I've got a BeoMaster 900 + BeoVox 500s which I plan to put in my study at school. However, the right-hand channel has quite a bit more low-end and midrange presence than the left hand channel, which I have narrowed down to the bass tone control. When at full, both channels are even, but below full, the left hand channel drops away considerably quicker

It's not the panel which makes the huge difference (other than the Contrast Panel, which is not cheap in itself), it's the BeoSystem 3, which is frankly a jaw-droppingly good processor...

Personally I think the BeoVision 4 and 9s are the best looking plasmas on the market in terms of design. As far as picture goes, I'd say they're pretty much head and shoulders above the rest. The Pioneer displays are excellent, as are some of the other displays which use Pioneer plasmas, but the BV4 + BS3 combo really is streets ahead in terms of picture
