  • Re: Idea on price please

I think £125 for a Beocentre 4000 without speakers is a bit optimistic these days. The lack of a CD or tutrntable and the Japanese origins count heavily against it. Getting £125 would require a superbly put together advert and a lot of luck. The last two to go on ebay went for £80 and £9.99 (Had a scratch on the lid) Simon

  • Re: Beovox S45 repair

That's when you know the B&O bug has taken hold. When you are prepared to spend more getting the kit you have to work at it's best than the repaired and restored kit would sell for! I can see myself following you dowm that particular road with my S45-2's. SDB: Be glad you have the wherewithal to fix your S45's yourself ... I just

  • Re: Plasma and LCD price slide continues

I am not sure how big a part the cost of the actual panel plays in the high overall cost of the TV. I am guessing that the panel itself could be bought in for maybe 20% of the retail cost of the TV. If the cost of the panel drops by 10% the overall cost of manufacturing and selling the TV would decline by around 2%, and passing that saving onto the

  • Re: I have some items for sale

J If I have read it correctly you are looking to sell various components of a Beosystem 5500. Your target audience is probably people that aleady have a Beosystem that are looking to replace an individual component, As that is quite a specific audience you may have more luck with the greater pool of people that are out there on ebay. If you list the

  • Re: Capacitors

Puncher: As in all things HiFi there is a lot a bo**ocks talked about capacitors (similar to cables etc). I agree with yachadm in principal but I would be wary of some of the prices of some of the so called audio-grade caps - many are priced for selling to the cable brigade! For a decent, unbiased read on the effects of various types of capacitor see

  • Re: THE JULY DRAW

I am still in shock! The last time I won a prize in a raffle was when I won a set of embroidered pillow cases at the village fete nearly 35 years ago (Not a lot of use to an 8 year old boy!). I managed to keep cool about the prize draw by forgetting it was about to happen! I got the email on my return from a business trip to Birmingham saying I had

  • Re: BEOGRAM 1700 problem with SMMC20 Soundsmith cartridge !

If you decide to buy the Beogram 1700 with MMC20S to fit your new cartridge to and the MMC20S appears to work fine, please let me know your price if you wish to sell the MMC20S! The MMC20S may be towards the bottom of the range but it is still a good cartridge! I have one on my BeoCenter 7000 and I am very happy with it but a spare would come in handy

  • Avant 28" Question

I have been tracking a 28" Avant on Ebay. It has a built-in VCR and have established that it is a type 8133, looking that up in the products section establishes that it is a BeoVision Avant 50Hz MK I MK II (81xx) I did a search earlier and it seems that some of the earlier 28" Avants are best avoided as they are prone to tube problems. Is
