I think there are always some inconsistencies between the levels of different sources. II was playing around with my BeoPort yesterday, and found that I had to drop the volume output of my Apple from about 9/10ths to 7/10ths to get rid of some distortion on one song. But just in case, double check you have the stereo jack from your Apples to the right

Mine is a BV8-32, not sure what my SW level is, I have tried looking for it on the service menu, but I think I have the wrong set of secret key strokes FORMAT > GO just triggers format 1 by default (at least that is the text that flashes briefly on the screen) The Foxtel is plugged into AV1 and set to V.AUX and always defaults to FORMAT 1 which just

I have the reverse problem ! My V.AUX with its FOXTEL SCART always starts in FORMAT "1" and I am always shifting it to "3". The other irritant is that I wish it would start in SPEAKER "1" mode, but it always starts in "3".

I see no reason why the PUC list could not be updated to include an Apple Remote ... I would give your nearest dealer a call I have tried to find ATV 1st generation details - these used to be in Wikipedia, but whomever did the update for 2G has dropped all the details of the video out of the first generation -- I can not remember if it was composite

ATV G2 uses HDMI connections, and yes it can be controlled via a PUC (as Apple Remote) The real question for you, is how many HDMI devices do you want to support, and how many HDMI connections does a BV7-40 Mk II have That is your real constraint If not enough HDMIs you need to look at the ATV G1 (in my opinion)
