I agree with TripEnglish - the BeoSound 5 is really, really worth the wait. Just to add, the BeoSound 5 and BeoMedia are not comparable, and hence I would not take the information posted earlier about how to sync music as gospel.

I'm in the camp that Component produces a better picture than HDMI at present. HDMI is all well and good but HD broadcasting and production is still in it's infancy (in comparison to 'non-HD'). Component does a good job of hiding any 'mistakes' and issues in the source-material, while HDMI tends to bring it all through.

Yes, there is a good argument that the sound will be significantly better than CD, although it's also dependent on the DACs used. If you run digital audio out into the BeoSystem 3, then I expect you could experience sound significantly better than CD. I'm in the same boat as Peter. Listen for yourself, although personally I'm a BeoLab 3 fan... If you don't have one already and are looking at getting a BeoLab 2, then you may actually prefer not to and simply get BeoLab 9s, which eliminate the need for a subwoofer...
