It's all-too-easy to get the software wrong if you aren't a software-orientated company. Luckily Apple are (as an example). Although they've always produced computers, they've always produced their OS, too. I've found with the company I work for is that it takes *AGES* to get our external programmers to do anything. If B&O are
deleted
One thing I would say about a forum....is leave posts intact. Don't post then delete, leaving 'deleted' behind through a discussion :)
This is becoming quite wearisome! Razlaw believes that everything transmitted to the BS3 in LPCM format is played without modification
I'd say this: If you watch a Blu-ray with DTS HD on the PS3, compared to the internal Blu-ray player, the sound via the PS3 is much improved. In fact, audio in some films
-
You can find this in a 1 minute Google search :) To do this, go to the Add Channels menu and use the following settings: 11.427 H 2/3 27500 Channel 10510

You've got to configure it manually Simon and I can't remember how - do a Google search?
Can the built-in Blu-Ray player in the BV7 output audio signal as PCM? If not, HD sound is surely not possible on BV7 BL
Correct. You have to listen to standard Dolby Digital 5.1 on a DTS HD Blu-ray ! ie. the same audio you'd get on a SD DVD. It is outrageous. Can you imagine paying £1000 to upgrade
-
Yes, they can (channel 10050?). Problem is, there's almost nothing on ITV HD (apart from home England matches, the odd film and Kingdom). You also have to manually select it from 'Other Channels' from the Sky EPG, which is a pain. Works on the Thomson boxes - Other Channels is your key.
Ok, i understand... But something has happened since i never before had Blu-Ray sound when bitstream was selected. Oh well, perhaps it is not HD audio compatible anyway, but now the sound is much clearer than before, so i am still happy :)
Bitstream through my PS3 always worked here? My mate used to borrow my
Maybe I missread your post, as you apparently missread mine, but how is what I am saying different than what you are saying?
Apologies from me then - I thought you were implying that B&O stated that the BS3 did 'support' DTS HD. Unfortunately as a MKIV owner, they state that DTS HD is not supported
-
We know that the NEW bv7 does not decode it!
The BV7-40 MKIV, with Blu-ray player, doesn't. As I said, B&O say on their own website that DTS HD isn't supported by the MKIV, even if the Blu-ray disc uses DTS HD.
