• Re: Soundsmith - delivery times

Mine took 5 weeks to arrive in England about 3 years ago. They are probably even busier now with the continuing demise of original cartridges so I wouldn't panic. Chris.

Or as my mother used to say - "men are simple machines which convert beer into urine" Chris.

  • Re: Beo 4 phono

DOH I totally forgot about N.Radio being the "new" phono. Thanks for confirming my global embarrassment guys In my defence though I have another DVD version which DOES have phono in the add > list options. Chris.

  • Re: Beocenter 9300 died - help

The biggest problem may be finding a dealer who will supply the part without also fitting it. The excuse used is they don't want to be responsible for someone who doesn't know what they are doing electricuting themselves. I have had this problem when I wanted some CX speaker drivers can you believe Chris.

  • Beo 4 phono

Just picked up a spare Beo4 (DVD version) on ebay & cannot find "Phono" in the list. I've always been a BL1000 fan (hence my limited experience of this remote) but for controlling my Avant I definately need a Beo4 and I'd like to also use it with my BS5500.
It does strike me as an extremely kind offer. Forgive my ignorance, but what's foam rot? I've read the term but not found out what it is yet. There's a pair of S35s on eBay at the moment - would those be any good? Or would I be better off sticking with my X25s until the right thing comes along? [/quote
My advice would be to skip the Beocenter and fill your tank up with enough fuel for the return trip to Newcastle! That's a very generous offer for a nice system indeed :)
Definately your best bet by far Classic B&O which you won't regret owning. Find yourself a decent pair of S45-2 speakers on

  • Re: B & O 5000 System
Ah, you mean the foam around the cones. Yes sticky to the touch
I suspected as much but not the end of the world if the cosmetic condidtion is otherwise good. Replacement drivers are still available from B&O but not worth buying unless you are going to keep them (@ £25 each I think). The cheap but
