Those volumes are gross volume - the S55 will appear bigger due to the odd grilles! The internal volume of the S55 is 20 litres - not sure about the S45-2 - I cannot find the figure but I would guess only a bit smaller. The S55 is the successor to the S45-2 - both are good quality speakers though I favour the S45-2. Just has a little magic that seems

It could be capacitors but you will need to check the whole circuit. Are you experienced in electronic repairs? If not, I would recommend getting someone to fix this for you - the 1900 fits quite a lot in a small box! Tricky to take apart and trickier to put back together!!

Absolutely gorgeous set! One of my favourites and a superb picture. However the market for 26" mono sound sets with ultrasonic remotes is very limited!! You will get something on eBay though very little I am afraid. I'd love it but live in the far North so not very practical! Where do you live? If I were you, I'd keep it and use it once

I have never seen that before! Fascinating though clearly i understand why it disappoints. I suppose it must have been in the sun - I can see no way forward except a new glass panel and these are very few and far between. I am afraid I would suggest selling this one and getting another.

Pleased to hear it was nothing more serious!

Do you have a PIN number set up? Just had a scan through the service manual which is most unhelpful - in common with most service manuals it merely says replace modules or the main chassis!!

In my view B&O make some great equipment. I do not however think that they are at one of their highs at present. I look forward to the developments to come with the variations on the Beosound 5 theme and the change in Masterlink. The fact we can still enthuse about Beolink some 25 years after its introduction shows what a superbly thought out system

The straight answer is no. However the transformer unit is able to be changed but you will need a donor unit. The other alternative is a voltage transformer but it will also have to be 60Hz. Much simpler to get a new one I am afraid.

Very true but we were doing this 20 years ago. I think we should have moved to multi-source by now and the lack of two way is disappointing. 20 years ago, Beolink was magic; it is not that unusual now and systems like Sonos offer more from an interface point of view. I am not changing but B&O should be at the cutting edge again.
