  • Re: Beomaster 3000 PROBLEMS HELP PLEASE!!!!!

My Beogram 5005 did exactly this on my Beosystem 5000. It seems to be that if the Beocord was plugged into the master, but not into the mains, then the gram would drag itself over the LP, then return to rest. Luckilly this was before I bought a cartridge without knackered suspension. So its worth checking all other datalinked equipment has a mains supply

  • Re: CD50 Test CD

Ok.... Well Test Sample 3 is the 'Philips disc without defects' as described in the CD50 service manual... Both 5 and 5A are the defect discs, with 5A being the newer version. I have ordered both 3 and 5A, so this should have me covered. Price was pretty good too. Ben

  • Re: CD50 Test CD

Yes, I think it was part of a set of two... From what i've found out so far Test CD 5 is the defect CD, and 5A is the one with no defects. I just needed some confirmation... I'm waiting back for replies from another forum. Thanks, Ben.

  • CD50 Test CD

Here's a strange question...... Would the Philips/Studer Test CD 5A be suitable for setting up my CD50 instead of the Sony YEDS5 cd? Cheers, Ben

  • Re: CX100 driver differences

The crossover is actually a partial 3 way.... call is 2.5 way if you like! One woofer just covers the bass, the other covers bass and midrange. Cheers, Ben.

  • Re: Anyone like old cars?

Llewelyn, Its a 1984 928 S2, so its the 4 speed auto, with the hotter engine (310 hp). Its been modified with an '88 S4 autobox and rear end, so the acceleration is amazing! although it now rev's alot higher at cruise. I love the earlier styling, the more chisled nose section and old school rear lights. The colour is a metallic black, special

  • Re: Anyone like old cars?

Thanks.... It isn't technically legal, but i've not been pulled over for it so far and its been through several MOT's. I dont think most people around my area even know how an irish plate should be spaced. It should read CLZ 9928.

  • Re: Beosystem 5000, MUCH confusion!

With regards to the Beomaster cutting out, this is a common problem. Potentiometers R226 and R126 go out of spec. Fix by installing multi turn potentiometers of the same value, and reset amplifier bias according to the service manual. Cheers, Ben

  • Re: Extra speakers with Beomaster 5500

You could connect the Pentas using the pre-out from the 5500, with a 'passive preamp' in the signal path to attenuate the signal. A passive preamp can be made simply by using a potentiometer of the correct value. http://sound.westhost.com/project01.htm Fig 1 shows a simple circuit. Cheers, Ben.
