I'm familiar with electronics, not so much tv's but try me. :)

  • Re: Is draft N fast enough for VIDEO_TS playback?

I've had the same problem. Draft N is more than enough, but frontrow and quicktime doesn't like network streaming. Try XBMC for OSX instead of front row (www.osxbmc.com). I've even been streaming 1080p HD-video over standard 54mbit wireless without lag. XBMC is great! A bit ugly in its original skin, but an apple tv-lookalike skin is available

  • Re: Avant stand problem

The type number is 8111. Avant 28 VCR. I watched tv last night, and a little bit this morning. No problems. The fuse is ok. I tried disconnecting the stand control module, but no change.

  • Re: Avant stand problem

What the...? I was about to try what Keith suggested when I realized that the damn thing wouldn't turn on at all! No red dot, no reacting to commands from the remote, no reaction when pushing the buttons on the top of the screen. I have made sure the on-off-button is in the on position. Can I have tripped a circuit breaker when I pulled the cord

  • Re: Avant 32", SW 8420, Standprogrammierung

Cleaning the resistor did nothing. Measured the resistance, and it seems to work properly! Any other ideas? Could it be software?

  • Re: Avant stand problem

After some testing, it turns out that the stand rotates a couple of degrees left when i push 1 or 0 on the remote. At one point i had it turning about ten degrees right when i pushed 2, but after some more menufiddling it stopped.

  • Re: Avant stand problem

nope, it does not. i have also tested the position sensing resistor in the stand, and it works flawlessly. :S Could it be that the function to return to standby position is turned off?

Reboot does not work. Already tried it. Cleaning the variable resistor might do good, I noticed that the avant doesn't stop turning when it is close to the 35 degree limit, but rather continues to the limit and "crashes". I think this strengthens the theory about the resistor. Regarding safety: Can I get to the board without having to

I have tried this, and it does not seem to work. I will try again when I get home today.

Hi andy! It has been like that since I got the avant a couple of weeks ago. I tried programming in a position 2 in the menu.
