Having owned both the Bose QC and the A8's I found myself using the Bose due to the noise cancelling feature when outdoors and the fact that I found them far more comfortable than the A8's. Sound quality from both are adequate, the bose offers more bass but lacks any clarity and the A8's offer a neutral sound in my opinion. Build quality

Sounds like it will be a fantastic event, I'll be in Melbourne that week but sadly have a prior engagement that night.

Begs the question why the pricing is so far out for the Australian market even when taking into consideration our current weak currency rate.

Does anyone have available the current pricing for the Serene in the US? I have heard rumours that it has come down in price?

Have you thought about Beoport? I bought one for the same purpose of connecting BL2500's up and it worked well...although the box is hideous and the cable mess annoyed me but you could still use the Beo4. I have mine now sitting in a cupboard collecting dust.

1. Beovision 5 2. Beovision Avant 32 RF I still think you can't beat the design/performance and price of the classic Avant today. I just wish my partner would let me buy one for the bedroom but he's under the impression that if it isn't a flat panel it's garbage.

Thanks for the thorough review, although my partner is less impressed since my desire to buy this handset has skyrocketed! I just hope Australia gets this one more hastily than the Serene.

Last time I watched that show was in its old Sale of The Century format with Tony Barber, they used to give away quite a bit of BOSE gear back then. I wonder if they still overinflate the price of prizes...

That's nice of your dealer, I can't say my local would be that kind! I find it truly mind boggling when people plug in their iPods to audition a loudspeaker when a finely edited CD leaves a lowly MP3 file and a poorly edited CD for dead.
