i had a similar problem. i only have a mac and haven't used a windows pc in years. i bought vista and partitioned my hard-drive on my mac (using bootcamp function on my mac). this means i can use it both as mac using leopard and then reboot it into windows vista on the same machine. in vista on my mac, i downloaded windows media palyer and used

yes, deleting files is a problem. i have the following observations: 1. when you delete the files from the beomedia 5 remotely using a computer the Bs5 still displays the album and can still play it which i find bizarre... you would have thought that once deleted from the Bmedia5 dierctory it would disapper completey... 2. when you go into clean-up

what's a firmware update - is it the same thing as software update?

Mr 10%, you are an absolute genius and a star. i just wish my dealer had a clue... thank you! when i walk up to the bs5 and touch the dial the whole system lights up, the speakers switch on and the volume dial works just as desired.

my equipment is: bs5, bv5, beolabs... how do you go about changing the option settings then?
-
is this an option setting problem - how can i get it to work?

just had the Bs5 installed but can't change the volume - i have to use the Beo5 remote... equipment i have is: Bv5, Bs5, BL5, BL3, DVD1. when i turn the volume on the Bs5 a half blue arc appears but volume doesn't change. i thought the whole point of it was that it was hands-on...how do you configure it so that you can use the volume dial on

what i've been told by the dealer is DON'T use WAV because you can't tag album info and cover-art. i've been told to use Wndows Media player to rip music and select "Windows media lossless" - then download beoplayer and get it to scan your harddrive - then beoplayer will transfer music to the Bs5...
-
moxxey, i just need to correct this whole issue. the studio does record the track on multiple channels - these are then put into a WAV file master copy. the WAV lossless master copy is then used by the CD pressing plant to burn CDs and distributed to servers for distribution via itunes, spotify etc... but the a CD is mathematically lossless and uncompressed

1. most of my music downloaded in itunes on my mac can't be played apparently... the itunes downloads were done using the mp3 encoder option but they were actually ended up in the m4p or m4a format. the bs5 only plays pure mp3 not derivatives like m4p or m4a... damn, does that mean i have to download all my music again??? 2. DRM mp3 won't play
