The question is: will we just get a special Beo4-compatible IR eye version (like Lutron does for B&O)... or will we require a B&O Gateway that can communicate via RS232 to the dock? Obviously the second option is a brain-dead non-starter for many people.
The IPort dock comes with IR connection

Interesting yes, but who would buy one of theese now that Apple has introduced airplay in IOS 4.2. ? If you instead buy a cheaper (almost for certain) apple tv, you can stream music, videos and pictures from your iphone to the tv without having to dock it somewhere... /Ehlerz

Hi All Just wondered if anyone has heard about Iportmusic.com? They have launched an ipod/iphone dock you can connect to your tv for video and audio AND B&O provides PUC codes for it. http://www.iportmusic.com/products/free-standing Seems they have a lot of other cool things aswell. Just to let you all know. /Ehlerz

....IMO the BS8 is in top 10 of ugly "hifiproducts/docks". It us unproportional looking with a ipod, ipad or iphone docked. Furthermore its features are absolutely ridiculous...actually, it has no features!! No question it sounds wonderfully for an Ipod dock, but damn can you get any less value for money?? Sorry, i am definitely not impressed

WOW...we allready had a BS8 at work :-)
To my knowledge, the Encore doesn't have ML and never will - it is being outfazed. But I certainly hope you're right about the possibility to integrate, but I guess it will be through Beonet. Just wondering whether Beonet will be compatible with current TVs......
Sorry, by no ML I mean that it is
