  • Re: beovision 9 + panasonic blue ray DMP BD 10...?

Bluray gives noticeably better sound than dvd as most discs come with an uncompressed multi channel pcm track which is way better than dd 5.1. The BS3 / BV9 deals with this sound track very nicely too. Cheers Peter

  • Re: Beosystem3 owners: wire management and heat question

I've got mine stacked in a cupboard. I suggest putting it at the bottom of the stack as it is heavy and a bit wider than most kit. It doesn’t give out much heat so the bottom works well for that too. I've found that having the sockets on the front of the device makes it very easy to connect up, I have the following connected, Sky HD, DVD1

  • PS3 integration, bluray IR remote available

For those interested in controlling the PS3 bluray player with lintronic, I’ve just noticed this cheap IR remote for the PS3 is coming soon, I'd imagine it will be easy it integrate this compared to the sony remote which is bluetooth. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ps3-Blu-Ray-Dvd-Remote-Control/dp/B000OYCTIS/ref=sr_1_29/202-2551432-9620652?ie=UTF8&s

  • Re: BeoSystem 3 possibilities

The BS3 can control multiple stb etc, it has 6 av ports each of which can have a different source and associated IR stb control. You can have the same stb control on more than one of the av ports. Cheers Peter

  • Re: Which do you think is winning us over?

Maybe this very much depends on ones hearing abilities. My experience; 1) First I loaded up my beomedia 1 with 128k/bit tracks, then I listened and it didnt sound good. 2) Then I loaded it up with 192k/bit tracks and it was quite good but not as good as cd 3) Then I loaded it up with lossless tracks, and now I find no difference to the CD. The main

  • Re: BeoVision & Dolby Digital 5.1

May depend what country you are in, for the uk Dolby Digital 5.1 is only transmitted on HD channels and these are only on Sky HD or HD cable services. If you are referring to the actual connection then I believe yes you need a digital audio input ie spdif for sound or hdmi for sound and picture. Cheers Peter

  • Re: BeoMedia 1? Or not?

Regarding lossless I guess but dont know that beoport could do the same. To get lossless files onto beomedia 1, I rip the cd on my pc using Windows Media Player 10, with the library directory set to my beomedia 1, and the quality set to lossless. I do this because beoplayer dosnt seem to support ripping at lossless quality. The ripped tracks are quite

  • Re: BeoMedia 1? Or not?

I have been very pleased with my beomedia1, I have had it since January. It has 90gb (5000 tracks) of lossless music files on it and 6gb (3000 pics) of photos, and still has loads of space left. It was set up in about 10 minutes no problem and it works just great on my main system and my link rooms. I agree it is lacking some features, but it really

  • Re: Beosystem 3 wall mounting question

Beobres One other point. If you need to permanently use the vga socket which is sited on the temporary connection panel say for beomedia1 or an xbox etc, you will need to get a very shallow vga scocket as a normal vga cable is too big to allow the access panel door to close, and the associated phono cables / spdif cable also prevent closure of the door
