As captioned, my BS2 has suffered a computer chip failure which will cost around 190 pounds sterling to repair. I have decided not to repair it as it only cost me that amount to buy it [and that price included the A-8!]. Did I make the right decision? If so, what do I do with all the accessories, i.e., table top charger, travel charger and A-8 [one

Hi, Chris. I got the BV6-26" during B&O's demo sale in 2005 for HK$25,500 which is about 2,000 pounds sterling. I am happy with it, especially the speakers/sound coming from this unit. I would agree with the earlier comment that a CRT presents a sharper viewing image. I had the opportunity to compare my BV-6 with my MX 8000 and the latter

Rich, Did you get this? I have been searching for that cabinet for ages! I already have the B&O to go in the cabinet!

Isn't this how some courier companies test the destructiveness of their delivery procedures -- keep flipping the carton until it is adequately mangled? ;) Nonetheless, one must admire the persistance of the package trying to climb up the conveyor belt -- a bit like Sisyphus trying to push the boulder up the hill for eternity. :)

Thanks, Mika. I will need to download all the manuals so that I will know how to remove the perplex lid, how to remove the aluminim deck, etc. I am not very mechanically inclined. The only thing I can do in terms of B&O is remove a record and replace a plug-in cartridge. :) Anything more complicated, I would prefer to leave to the trained repair

Indeed, the SC series are increasingly difficult to find. I have been searching for ages for a rosewood SC-80 cabinet in good condition. When I do locate one, either in teak or rosewood, the shipping costs become a problem, whether shipping it to the eastern US or to Hong Kong.

Thanks, Mika. The task sounds a bit daunting as I am not too adept at these types of repairs. I might try to dissassemble the Beogram next week for a look. Then, being totally intimidated, I will waste my money calling B&O only to be frustrated by B&O saying "We no longer have the part".

OK, I have had a look. There is a white string at the back as Graham says. This string does not appear broken; however, it does appear to be disconnected. There is a "noose" or "loop" at the end of the string [the end closest to the two arm assembly] that is currently not connected to anything. Also, the string is a bit stiff as

Thanks, Peter and Graham. I will have a look and report back later. Cheers!
