The TURN button on some older Beolink 1000s I will need to find a newer model to test the equivalent button... The BL 7000 will not work with the BM 5500 - it should be alright with the newer 6500. Brian

You need to store the bass treble and balance settings once you have chosen new ones using the Beolink 1000, MCP 5500 or MCP 6500.

It was never my intention to re-ignite a war over speakers - I was simply trying to make the point that the flat panel speakers are overpriced! They are rare in good condition as they are easily damaged - were not popular (why else were they dropped so soon?) and lived on for a while longer in minature as Beolab 4500s. Pentas were made for a long time

In response to gk31ax No I have never downloaded music illegally either. I still prefer CDs as I have yet to be convinced of the quality of compressed music - perhaps someone can advise me otherwise?? Brian

We all do this slightly differnetly I guess! I prefer to take the drivers out of the speaker to get better access and not let bits of foam drop into the baffle material or the speakers casing. Ihave found using 20+ clothes pegs (ie all round) helps if you cannot find a glass of the right diameter. I also prefer not to risk scratching the aluminium casing

I can understand why people like the design of these - I just cannot understand the price. They are not much more than a pair of P45 (Beovox 5000) or with a built in amplifier with bass boost (Beolab 5000). For the £1,000 or more a pair of Pentas produce better sound - or for about £50 (now) you can have the P45s in teak rosewood, white

I have just had a quick look myself and note that this is for other makes of players and Sat decoders not non B&O TVs - sorry! Brian

Have you managed to make it control anything - using a BL1000 I would guess from that era? Are there any guidance notes? Brian
-
The only way to do this is to use a third party controller (if available). Have a look at http://www.stonedesign.dk/en/ Brian

Sadly my Danish is just not good enough (I can translate mange tak)! I have tried to translate the rest but come up against too many problems. Useful pictures, as at least I can understand them! Brian
