  • Re: B&O WM1 Wow and Flutter Meter

I am using this equipment when I am making the Classic Audio Certificate measurements for turntables and tape recorders. Actually there are two different version, but both are by function the same. I don't think the equipment is very rare, it is very possible to find this and many other of the very fine test equipment B&O have produced. /Frede

  • iPhone - Beolab 5000 (1967)

I have been setting up a system for digital music on the classic Beolab 5000 of 1967. Of course the music quality will never be the same quality as you can enjoy by using the Beolab 5000 and the Beomaster 5000 or the Beogram 3000 Thorens as source for your music. I am using these products: Squeezebox Touch - NAS media server - iPhone 3GS All the music

  • Re: Polyester caps

This is an interesting discussion. I see the issue from another angel. A classic product can be restored in various ways: 1. Replacing the signal path caps with MKT/MKS caps 2. Replacing the signal path caps with audio grade electrolytic caps 3. Replacing selected caps only 4. Replacing the signal path caps with the original caps technology selected

  • Re: Damping factor

The damping factor and restored products. The damping factor change significant over time. The reason is components degrading. I am measuring the damping factor on all restored products and I find result like this: Beolab 5000 (1967) Damping factor before restoration: 4 (4 ohm) Damping factor after a full restoration: 25 (4 ohm) Beomaster 4400 Damping
