  • Re: BeoWorld Asia??

I don't have a problem with this at all and you make some perfectly reasonable and well thought out points. My only concerns are with the amount of activity the forum will see. I will put up the poll - are you happy with the question asked?

  • Re: Using a non B&O remote

Which VCR do you have? Most B&O VCRs actually work via the TV so this may prove to be a problem unless you have the external IR receiver.

The Jarman's book has a section on restoration. A good read as well!

£150 is very cheap! You can sell bits of this for more. Yes, you can simply replace the Beomaster, though as said above, the Beogram will be a problem. A Beomaster 5500 will work but will have problems connecting to the Beovision - I don't think it will work but someone may know more. They do at least use the same remote codes and the 5500

One of the reasons for the fewer postings is a software problem that particularly affects those with high post accounts. This is the reason I now post as Doctor and not Peter!! We are about to sort this, at least on a temporary basis so hopefully traffic will go back to normal levels. I think queries are still being answered promptly though so don't

  • Re: A couple of Beosystem 5000 questions...

Being completely honest, I wouldn't do it. I would get a 7000 system which should work with your present system. The 5000 uses a different set of remote codes and will not integrate. The 5000 system should be cheap though - £350 - 400 or so. The Beogram 5000 rather than the 5005 is probably the one to have as it is better built and although

  • Re: Turntable recommendations

The obvious route would be a Beogram 7000 . This has the necessary built in RIAA and would match the BS9000 very well. It has reasonable performance. The problem will always be the cartridge which are moderately expensive. A slightly more esoteric choice would be the Beogram 6000 quad - classic Jensen design and a good RIAA - can play quad records but

I loved the Metropolitan Museum - I spent 2 days mainly in there! Also MoMA just to check what B&O is on display! I went up the Statue of Liberty - view pretty average but certainly worth the trip to see inside the structure. My wife lived in New York for a year - her favourite place was Windows On The World - which obviously is no longer there
