• FREE AVant 28 DVD...... working, just needs collecting ( tube MAY be on way out )

Hi, If anyone would like an AVANT 28 DVD , then its available FOC - just come & get it. The TV works fine - is in use with a SKY+ BOX. Sound is superb. Picture is good BUT...there are some horizontal lines visibale "behind" the picture - not visible all the time - more noticeable on dark screens. This may be a precursor to the tube going

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore & Spotify ?!
Without divulging too much, I think that B&O realize the need for a streamed service (at least one, if not more), but due to copyright laws, it's difficult to make an international platform since many services exist only in certain countries or the EU. Now that Spotify has gone (more or less) global, I wouldn't

  • Re: Beosound 5 Encore & Spotify ?!
At the moment there's no way to run Spotify natively on the BeoSound 5 platform. It manages your own music collection, IP Radio, and plays auxiliary sources. And no, the sound quality through the AirPort express isn't stellar, but it's a convenient solution.
Whilst I really like the BS5 / Encore

  • Re: what about the deale conference????

Like the rest of the world, sadly...:-( apparently, you can buy an app for your current i-phone to keep you up-to-date in real time about how outmoded it now is compared to this months version.

  • Re: B&O Spotted In Movies/TV

Well, I just saw a white Beolab 5 in a UK TV advert.....for a discount sofa brand, Harveys. So the lady pictured had apparently paid £349 for a huge sofa, and £13,000 for the speakers sitting next to it.

  • Re: Now the Form 2's have had a splash of colour!!!

I think there is an amount of missing the point here - deliberate or otherwise. I am sure many here would never wear a D&G T shirt, with the logo 2 feet across your chest, or a belt buckle in a designer logo - or a huge baseball cap with a logo all across the peak.... BUT ...people do, and they pay more for these T shirts, hats and so on than Form

  • Re: Crazy

I recently bought an avant 32 with DVD1 and MINT Beo4 (dvd version) for UK130. This is for use in a secondary room , mainly by the (teenage) kids with a digibox and consoles...sound & picture are great, it controls SKY and they can play the vcr's from their childhood. the avant has truly superb sound, it sits snugly in a corner and was maybe

  • Incredible footage - B&O Owner on BBC Newsnight

Shameful footage - scary lack of empathy from so many young people. Whats is almost worse is that in many cases, the 12 - 25 yr olds are the children of the current "adult" population....what have we done wrong? http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b013ytvw/Newsnight_25_08_2011/ Ian, the owner of King Street in Mancheter, is in the studio

  • Re: pitching for high hopes.......

Hi Keith, Kind of related... I have an avant 28dvd that has an impending tube failure, I think. Faint lines are visible behind the picture, most visible on on darker images, ( hard to say on light images - say BBC news 24 studio shots, or an outside, daytime image) they runing horizontally across the screen in a sort of stretched S shape....(may be

  • Re: Your latest purchase?

Just this week I picked up an very nice Avant 32 VCR, silver for £130UK - this including a mint Beo4 (dvd version), a silver DVD1 and shelf, and some STB brackets to hang a sky box on behind the TV. It is heading for a second room (kids use mainly) to replace a 28Avant DVD that has an impending tube failure, I think. Faint lines visible behind
