If the door mechanism is faulty it's certainly possible that you might not hear anything, despite the fact the light comes on. Hi Heribert, With my BS3200's doors locked there is no response from the unit at all when waving a hand in front of it. If you're seeing the light come on I suspect there may be an issue with door mechanism. Cheers, Matthew
