To me the BL 9's are the most beautiful of the ALT range. BL 5's second, BL 3's a distant, distant third. Is it the fact that it resembles a certain Antarctic avian species which causes the polarized opinions? Penguins are lovable birds - I think they look cute! (ah, perhaps that's why - guys generally don't want "cute"

I came across on eBay this interesting-looking listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Bang-and-Olufsen-Phone_W0QQitemZ220536808062QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335904a27e The seller claims it is a combo answering machine, but as far as I know the only B&O answering machine is the BeoTalk 1200. The buttons to the left of the handset resemble

Maybe dealers are more amicable to trade-ins in Europe than in the USA. However, my Boston dealer seems open to the idea. When I bought a BV 8-32 in Oct. 2008 and discovered soon afterwards that the BV 8-40 was coming out, they said they could consider a trade-in since the BV 8-32 was a big seller. As it happened, the BV 8-40 wasn't imported to

It depends on how far your average watching distance is from the TV, and if you have another movie/game room. My viewing distance is 3.2 meters and the BV 8-32 (which I used for just over a year) is a little small so I'm upgrading to the BV 10-40 when it arrives. Many people with a separate home theater room place a small TV or none at all in the

Earlier wall mounts seemed to have problems but it was recently fixed and existing owners were contacted to replace their mounts. Yours I'm sure will have the updated one and will be solid. Judging from reports it's designed to be used frequently. Be sure to post a pic when it's installed! I plan to have a similar setup (with the BV 10 on

Actually, the BV 10's floor stand is motorized, but your comments are still valid: why not make an easel-type stand for those who don't need motorization? Leo

This is a fantastic idea. When official pictures of the BV 10 started appearing last month, I emailed Gavin Sykes at STB and asked exactly the same question. Here was his response: ____________________________ Hi Leo We will probably not make a lower floor stand, B&O would not like us to play with their latest concept and to be honest I love it

I *love* this design - years ago I had a Nokia Communicator which also placed the speaker and mic on the opposite side of the keypad. My favorite part of the feature? It helps avoid smudges on the screen. (Seriously, as B&O connoisseurs we do not enjoy smudges on shiny surfaces) Leo

According to the UK Price List, going rate for a BL 3 + 2 = £4,800, whereas a BL 9 is £5,800. If you're going to go that route, why not spend the extra £1,000 for the superior sound performance (in all aspects except house-rattling movie bass) and (IMO) beauty... Leo
