  • Re: help please

Hi, go to your dealer and let him update the firmware of your Beo 5 to 1.34a (latest) and get the config tool in version 1.30. After this: Happy config :-)

  • Re: OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology and B&O

OLED-Displays are nothing new as e.g. KODAK showed OLED-equipped compactcameras on CEBIT a few years(!) ago (I think it was 2002 or so) and you can buy an OLED-TV from Sony in the US: 17" for a B&O price :-) Their are many products out there using OLED. The main problem is its durability. Have a look at the SonyEricsson Bluetooth watches: The

  • Re: Beosound 5 poll anyone?

Seeing the pictures, reading the specs etc. I was disappointed about the Beosound 5. Yesterday I saw it in flesh (do you say it this way in english?) at a local dealer and I was impressed and surprised in a positive way! It's the thing I want for my music. It's a media terminal with great aluminium wheels and "physical" navigation

  • Re: Best B&O Compatible Media Centre?

go and get a Mac mini + a Beo 5 remote and you can control the installed Front Row on the Mac directly with your beo 5! Works great with Keith Beo 5 Apple template!

  • Re: getting ready for the future

best Quality: - WAV - MP3 (256-320kb) - WMA If it is an option for Beosound 5 (I don't know if it supports it) you can use AAC, too. AAC on the same compression (e.g. 256 kb/s) sounds better than MP3. Best sounding codec was ATRAC from Sony ... but they never opened it and now it's dead :-( Personaly I never would use WMA! WAV or MP3 is much

  • Re: Beosound 5 Hands On Experience?

koning: From my observations there is nothing particularly special about this audio cicuit which uses off the shelf components to provide the required solution. Oh In other words......it's just a fancy display with a premium price! Why on earth don't they use audiofile components!!!!! And i was told that the sound chip was a custom built one

  • Re: re non b&o sub

I have a selfmade version with 2x 30cm KEF-Speaker compoundsystem and a Thomessen-Poweramplifer-Module. One chassis is visible and mounted on the outside and the 2nd one acts inside opposite to the outside chassis. It has the real power you need for lowfrequency playback :-) We all know: B&O makes good speakers but you can't trick physics. Such

mihalis: thank you very much iwill order cable from you. one more thing will it activate sub when system powerd on? it depends on your active subwoofer: If it has autosense-function (or however the manufacturer calls this feature) it will power on as soon as it "hears" s.th. on the linesignal. I have a non B&O subwoofer in my setup, too
