I agree. Complete waste of money. Noisy drive, no DTS HD support, no Internet connection. Internal drive also acts as an external drive, so has to be controlled via your Beo4 using yellow+button :(
Bv10-40 will cost 5608 EUR without remote control. And contrast glass will be an additional option for 665 EUR. Bv7-55 will cost 15,208 EUR including motorized stand and the Beolab 7-6 speaker (same spec as BL 7-2). These will go on sale around Christmas.
The BV10-40 is amazing value. The BV7-55, less so ! :
Are you talking about a straight swap Chris? Simon.
A straight swap is possible, but you'd need to push hard. Your MKIII is probably 'worth' £3500, tops, to your dealer, but they still make a profit on a BV8-40, so they might go for it. Alternatively, sell the MKIII privately and use
I don't know MGB... If the BV8-40 was available when I was looking at the BV7-40 Mark III I would have bought that instead, no question. I don't see it as a link room TV at all, it would have been perfect for me as my main living room TV and the picture quality is out of this world. Would have cost me
The BeoSound 3 needs only an Aux input to give it a whole new identity. I hope they ditch the ridiculous SD slot and put a jack there.
And basic Beo4 support. I use the BS3 in the office and often get caught out. It's not always within touching distance, the phone rings and the radio is still playing
And I do not like it when members make personal attacks. Prior to anybody being told to shut up in this thread, 2 others were personally attacked by being called blind, being accused of having their memory fail, and sarcastic comments such as "It must seem odd even to......" One can not engage in personal attacks
I'm over the moon with our BV8-40 and Beo5 deal this year.
To be fair, this was a crackingly good deal. In hindsight, why did I bother spending an extra £3K to upgrade from the BV7-40 MKIII to the MKIV? I'd have been better finding another £800....and buying a brand new BV8-40 with Beo5 and
What I find absurd in the electronics market is the latest and greatest is always just a few months from being obsolete. Too many people..
Yeah, but to be fair, B&O were selling TVs without HDMI up until fairly recently. I know you say 'months', but they were years behind in this example. My concern
-
Buy B&O products second-hand ... then you get value for money and don't have to worry too much about what you don't get brand new. That's my philosophy. I won't ever be buying a new B&O TV again.
Very true - the BL9s and BL5s are very underpriced, second hand. BL5s for £7500
i will be buying led tv soon http://www.sammyledtv.com/
Bloody hell, how cool is that? Mega-thin - I though it was an OLED TV at first. How come my BV7-40 is so deep - almost CRT-like - compared to this?
