I actually had a BC 5000, but it was a disaster. Didn't work very well, so day 1 BeoCom 6000 was released I changed. Liked the design anyway of the 5000. Didn´t knew there was a 5500. I think they need the frequency range for cell phones.

January 1 2009 analogue cordless phones will be illegal to use in the EU. That means if you still have a working BeoCom 5000 or 5500 you'll not have any use of it anylonger.

Used 5. Not much into buying used, but I could stand a used BL2 or a pair of BL5. They feel indestructable.
