It rather depends on how you measure it! If you look on the new site here , you will see it has a power output of 80W and also 30W per channel! The 80W is power consumed and the 30W is what I would regard as power out! But it rather depends on what you measure! From a speaker point of view, reckon on about 30W a channel!

Have seen this posted as a problem elsewhere and it seems daft! I suppose they wanted it to match! I suppose they should have roughened the plastic to accept the paint rather than spray onto a shiny surface. I dare say it will be a modification!

They will not display when attached to a PC2 - the display pin is not wired. Early PC2s also have issues with hum as the earth is not connected - there is a fix for this.

There were problems to start with - I seem to remember the 28" had particular problems. However they tended to present relatively early and so this fault should not be an issue so much now. These days you want to look at the hours used, as suggested by Kevin, as tubes will eventually get tired. This goes for all sets. The Avant is a pretty reliable

Fairly vintage speaker and sound it to be fair. But they sell on Ebay and with the right system make a very nice period piece. I have a pair!

The 3400 was designed to use the MMC5000 cartridge. I am surprised that the EN copes with the tracking or the rear channels in CD4 records. The CL certainly can though, as Kevin says, the suspensions will harden and this ability reduces. Having tried a number of cartridges with Quad records, my CLs did the best but I have not tried a suitable Soundsmith

They are not changing the design - just adding another finish. The head unit will be to all intents the same - only the switch unit changes by having less connections. The additional audio only unit will be available worldwide.

If yours has the synch socket, I would imagine that it is possible though it may well be that you need a hardware change - a new chip possibly. Most software changes can be done via the B&O service tool but this is a dealer only device. For a definitive answer, email B&O at Struer with your serial number and they should give you an answer. A
