Not tried making 9s scream but I would be surprised if they don't. That is in part the clipping function. Only the 5s don't do it of the modern speakers. Pentas don't either but that is not always a good thing! More likely that they will blow if you really hammer them!! 9s are better than Pentas in my opinion but they should be as they are

Have 3 6000s, a 2 a 2500 and a 1401. The 6000s are brilliant and wouldn't change them for anything. And my wife likes them as well. No problems with any of them. Much easier to use than the 2.

All I have heard about Frede indicates that he is a true professional. I considered having mine done by him but the thought of shipping my units put me off - probably wrongly. The Beolab 5000 system is superb - I do prefer newer speakers though - it sounded wonderful with my LS3/5As and AB1s. Lots of effortless power and detail. The Beolab 5000 has

duke46: Thanks for the responses. My units came with the MMC20EN. This was a rename of the MMC4000. I am guessing mine came after they decided to get away from the CD4 phase. I know we don't have the 3000 service manual, but it should be the same as the other models in this series. There is a service manual listed for the 3200 - worth a look?

moxxey: Now that *is* interesting. I could do with an audio-only BC2. Any idea on the release of updated BC2? First post on the new forum. Still trying to get used to this new design. Should be any time soon, along with the ICE powered Beolab 4000s.

Not sure the display is still available but Ridax does an even better display! More information!

There is a previous thread on this saying you need a converter.

Very strange! Makes be think that it must be an alignment issue with CD1 but if that was the case I don't understand how it plays at all. If the behaviour is reproducible on a regular basis, I think it needs to be seen by B&O. I have not come across that one before but will ask around!
