Sorry - don't agree. The simplest way by far is to simply connect the Beomaster to the Pentas. The Pentas can accept amplified signal and attenuate this themselves so you don't need expensive cable. One can argue that the BM4400 is a bit wasted and that you are effectively using two power amplifiers but the load of the Pentas will be so high

Isn't the bass driver in the S40 an 8" one anyway? The Peerless one in the S45-2 is of better quality but should fit. The cross over will clearly be different but certainly worth a try!

Practically the perfect system!
-
Far too expensive - why not just get the S45-2s? You will be hard pressed to find better.

Untill 3D is available without glasses, I see it as a niche format. I actually don't have 3D vision anyway (amblyopia) and neither does my daughter. This is commoner than people think and will always limit the market. I had to wear the daft glasses at the cinema simply so the picture was not all blurred - a complete pain!

There is a slide under the tone arm that alters the tracking weight. It should be about 1.2g for a MMC2 - the problem is whether it is accurate. For this you need a stylus balance - B&O used to supply these with new cartridges but these are rare! You can get new ones from Hi-Fi dealers but they are ridiculously priced. I would increase the tracking

Sounds like you already have the manual. Have you replaced the bulbs inside the white box that regulate the volume? (I am not that technical!!)

Fair, though very stylish! The Beolab 3000 is a lot better as the built in amplifier increases the bass which gives a flatter response. I have a pair in my hall. Mine cost £250 a few years ago - a bargain!
-
All of these will work together. The 3000 is the best of these decks but all are stylish with a good sound. 1200 speakers will be fine though maybe look at the slightly later S45s as well as these are easier to find and better sounding.

Well you can go into the service menu but the S/W numbers will be on the label on the back! If yupgraded, there will be a second label stuck on ! I wouldn't worry. The major update will be upgrading the surround sound to DTS if you want. You cannot upgrade a B&O CRT to HD but quite frankly, you don't need to. On a 32" CRT screen, the
