Not sure I agree with you 100% there Beolad. As the MX series is now a distant memory for many dealerships, and given the second-hand value of the sets, I see no reason to necessarily only consider the dealership and its attendant premium service prices. I have continually been astonished by the amazing value I have received from members/repairers known

Hi Martin I might swap my Beomaster 6000 Quad over with the Beomaster 2000 just to try it out with my MC120.2s. You know I'm not technically orientated at all - could I change the pointer lamp if I got a lamp kit, or does it require a complex degree of dis-assembly to get to the lamp in the first place?
14v 80ma bulb Looks like you need one of these John.... I can feel a return trip coming on.....
...I would like it if the tuning dial was illuminated...!
True defender of the Beolab 8000 system I would say. What do you do with a CDX? In line as well?
I have my CDX in the right-hand side of my sideboard. I slide the door over to the left to cover the drawers up, and it exposes the CDX on a shelf plus the CD collection underneath. Looks great :)
Go on John - show us a pic of the whole desk set-up!
Ok! Here it is with my trusty old 12 inch PowerBook G4 Mac - one day I'll find something more portable than this machine...anyway, got my Airport Express in this room so I can stream music from iTunes straight to the Beomaster 2000. Also got the BS2 dock

Thanks guys :) Laurence - correct. It's a Victorian mansion, and sadly I only have a small part of it! Nice big living space though for my 8000 system! When you have the three components set out in a line, I'm not sure any other system can look so good.

Thanks guys. I'm really pleased with the amp, and it looks great in all white next to the Beocom and with the 'custom' CX50s :) Mika - the stop is there, just that it's not glued in very well, so allows the preset cover to slide right over towards the Off button!

Surprisingly good Peter :) Very underrated I think - not heard too much comment about this amp on Beoworld before, despite its obvious good looks. Wonder why this is, given the lust shown for Beomaster 6000 Quads and, to a lesser extent, Beomaster 3400s???

Took a while, but I got my hands on this yesterday to add to my collection. Using it with some white CX50s with black frets in my office, with white Beocom 1000 and white MacBook all on the desk with the BS2 dock. Looks the business: Big thanks to Andy P and Nigel W :)

Having owned full Beosystems 5000, 6000 and 8000, I can see the merits in all of them. I've got to say though that setting aside the space consideration, there's nothing that can hold a candle to the 8000 set up. B&O set out to make a high performance no-limits system, and in my opinion they achieved it. The 5000 amp is nice enough, and
