Hi Evan, I almost would say that this option is better then staring at a PCB board Even though I think I will give it a try. Have asked this question to the seller as well. Read somewhere that if I'm gonna let this panel be laser engraved (for the text) it will become white (on glass). A guy called Barrie on this

No wonder BeoLink 7000s are so expensive. Leslie is driving up prices by making them so rare!! On a serious note though Leslie, amazing job on those BeoLinks!! WOW.

I just wish I could get the drivers to install! I may have to take it back if I can't get this sorted...
Guess that you've checked Creative support section for updated drivers; if not check it here and you should find what ever you might need.

Also, in a used shop I found a couple Creative Labs Soundblaster Audigy 2 cards for USD 25. Anyone reccomend these sound cards?
I can highly recommend the Audigy 2 cards; I bought the PCMCIA version which I'm using together with the VIA Tech board that I'm using together with

Not to mention iTunes won't update from ver 8... Oh, and I'm without the special IDE cable that links the Platinum module to the PCI board... This project is going to be worthy

That sounds like a great project Ed! ...and yes, a lot of time needed. The only reason I have time for what I'm doing is because it is summer and have no classes! Its basically a PC that will sit behind a chair Nothing to special, but fun for sure. I'm just trying to create a dedicated space for my music and a place for my friends to play new

Well Rich, with the recommendation of the computer guy (previous owner also), I bought the SB Audigy board today. It has the specs I want, at a more than reasonable price. Regardless it will be an improvement! This is going to be a buget build until I figure out how well I like the concept. What I am dreading the most is running ethernet cable from
24bits give us 144dB of dynamic range before you hit the system floor, which is more than enough! 192KHz though defintely does make a difference though, but as most of your music will be coming out at 44.1KHz 16bit, what's the point?
Thanks for taking the time with that post Alex. Based on that up there, I snagged
