  • New Manual!

For those interested, I have scanned and uploaded a rare Product Information manual for the Beocenter AV5. For owners of this cult set, it is a must! And also for those in need of sleep, the technical manual for the quad Beomaster 6000-2702!

  • Re: A Short Video

Rounded almost cup like structures with a small upright section attached to the wall. The wiring goes through the stands and you lose the foot of the 6000. Look very nice (far better than my description!)

  • Re: Misbehaving Beomaster 5000

I would get it fixed! It will probably be capacitors or a variable resistor or two. The 5000 is in many ways the best of the series and is well worth fixing. Tim Jarman at Beocentral could do it or maybe a volunteer amongst our many members in the North!

Did they show you the wall monts for the Beolab 6000s? They seem quite neat.

  • Re: Data-Linked Beograms - which ones are / are not?

Almost all the later tangentials are as is the Beogram 5000 radial. The Beograms 8000 and 8002 are as well and a few others which I doubt you would consider. Of more relevance is the possession of a RIAA built in which you don't want. The 3500, 4500, 6500 and 7000 all usually have one so avoid these. I would suggest a Beogram 3000 tangential. Probably

The user manual is actually on site. You need a female din to two RCA lead.

  • Re: Phones and beer resistiveness

Nokias do seem to be rather good at this. Our family have now flushed three phones , all Nokias, and all are still working! The secret is to take them apart quickly and let them dry. Don't try and use them when at all damp.

  • Re: Beocom 6000 handset doesn't connecting to the base.

You could try resetting the handset - I can let you know how to do this tonight - I am at work and I will need to check the procedure!

  • Re: BV7 Freeview module

Unlike the Struer crowd, I have not had a play so I will leave that query to one of them!

  • New Cartridges.

I realise that this might be better suited to the Beogram section, but i wanted as wide an audience as possible. As we all know, Soundsmith make new cartridges to replace the MMC1-5 and the MMC20/MMCX000 ranges. They are really rather superb hand made cartridges and I will happily vouch that they sound better than the originals. (And no, i have not
