Saw the BV8 today. Rather better than I imagined (seems a common view!) The sound is rather good and the picture bright and detailed. The logo really does work! Don't like the floor stand but the table mount is rather natty! Came away with another Beocom 6000 - I wanted one to take an earset though that doesn't arrive till next week! Also picked

Ridax had a solution that allowed you to connect a PC or Mac to these systems. Has he rejoined?

Mine was black and teak. I think it cost me £30 from Tim. It is the one pictured on Beocentral. The Beocord 1100 is less remarkable! You want a 2200 to get a similar level of performance!

Just read it! Quite a review! Mentions many of the old speakers that were counted as excellent - M100s, MS150s and MC120s. Also mentions the Pentas as superb and then lets slip that he owns Beolab 8000s! Now come on, which one of you is it?

Lovely amplifier - Direct coupled and lots of power and control. One of the best of this era and unfairly ignored. There was also the 3400 derivative which was quadrophonic but FM only. Have had both.

I think Soundproof is offering excellent advice. I agree completely about the speaker choice - I am also a fan of the under rated 4000s and these have just been updated.
