Getting back to the ad on eBay though, I love the use of 'boot still in shot' in the photograph. As a photographer myself it's a technique I use often to help convey a feeling of real quality in my work.
Beats having dangling bits reflected in a mirror I guess!

  • Re: CAT5

Indeed, but it is sort of possible to use CAT5 to carry conventional Masterlink - search the forum and you'll find a number of different pinouts, some of which allegedly even work If the cable conduits are spacious enough, it might be possible to use the old cables to pull in new CAT7. It will probably be very frustrating work, though.
By the way, what's in the "Dual" box?
Winter clothes at this time... found the box in the basement. It used to contain the walnut CS5000 I bought new in 1990 and sold ~three years ago after getting the disease. Got pretty much exactly the same money! (and regretted it immediately. It was beautiful

  • Re: Beomaster 7000 and Beolab 4000 - compatible???

That's right - the Powerlink connectors / cables always carry both L + R signals, and the switch on the speaker selects which one it will be playing. BL4000's have two Powerlink connectors in parallel, so if it suits your installation better, you can use one PL cable from the receiver to the first Beolab, then continue from there to the other

Nothing at all - just regular Powerlink cables You may have been looking at the DIN / Speakerlink connectors of the Beomaster, as it features those as well. (Just to make certain: you do mean Beo master 7000 the stackable pizza box receiver, instead of e.g Beocenter 7000?)

It would be mindblasting to hear the stories these old sets have heard. Probably some family listened to the news on this radio, worried as the

Wonder if it would be possible to approximate when my Master 38K was last serviced in Copenhagen?
