If they've got foam rot, then I would hardly pay anything for them at all unless the cabinets and grilles are in mint condition. From a personal viewpoint, they're worth the £80 the drivers will cost you overall. I would maybe pay £20 max for a 'knackered' pair, costing £100 overall once you add in the drivers. I expect the key combination will be different - the chassis are completely different. MX7000 is based on the unity chassis. I believe the only LXs which used the same chassis were the 6000 and 5000.

I agree - CD is destined to the same market type as vinyl, although it will always be a little more prevalent IMO as it's closely tied in with digital media. Vinyl is so far detached from other formats nowadays that it can only be of any use to those who are dedicated.

Not even talking about specs - the BeoSound 5 is simply the best B&O system as far as user interaction goes to date...

The Pentas and 8000s both still look and sound fantastic. They haven't got any 'worse' (as long as they're maintained). As stunning as the 8000 is, I just think the design of the BeoLab 5 is unparalleled - the way it conveys power and elegance at the same time is quite special.

I would seriously retain judgement until you've actually seen/used it. It will all make sense then...
